Over 20% population have refractive error. Poor vision limits the ability of a person. It affects their education, livelihood and social life. But due to poverty, over 80% of those having refractive error could not afford to get their eyes tested or purchase a spectacles (National Blindness and Visual Impairment Survey 2019). Children with visual impairment often lack necessary visual aids, eyeglasses, rehabilitation services, or other corrective services and treatment. When a child is affected by impaired vision, it not only affects the individual but also their family, community, and country by causing significant expenditures on health care and reducing their productivity. Punah Drishti (Restore Eyesight) is an initiative of (Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra) NBJK which is among top NGOs of India. We provide door step eye health services in remote villages and provide free treatment to patients identified with visual impairment due to cataract, refractive error, and other eye diseases.
