13 July 2024, Gaya: Mr. Bodha Manjhi, a 50-year-old resident of Koilipur village in Gaya district, belongs to the Musahar community, one of the most marginalized scheduled castes. As the sole breadwinner for his family of eight, Bodha works as a laborer. With no farmland or stable job, his economic condition is fragile. His situation worsened when he developed a cataract in his eye, severely impairing his vision and leaving him unable to recognize even familiar faces or continue working as a daily-wage laborer.

Bodha’s turning point came when he attended an eye screening camp organized by NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Kajha (Gaya). At the camp, he was diagnosed with a full-blown cataract. The hospital took swift action, arranging for Bodha’s transportation to their facility, where he underwent successful cataract surgery. They also provided accommodation, medicines, spectacles, and comprehensive care before and after the surgery, ensuring his comfort and recovery.

The hospital staff even facilitated Bodha’s return to his home, marking the conclusion of his transformative medical journey. Grateful for the timely intervention and holistic care provided by LNJP Eye Hospital free of cost, Bodha has regained his vision and resumed his work, restoring his ability to support his family.
