14 March 2024, Ranchi: Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD, CMPDI flags off the “Mobile Eye Care Van” at its hqs, which was provided to Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK), Hazaribag under CSR at a cost of Rs. 34.816 lakhs for facilitating comprehensive primary eye care services primarily in remote villages of Ranchi, Ramgarh and Hazaribag district of Jharkhand and to make Jharkhand free of preventable blindness. The van will be handed over to NBJK run LNJP Eye Hospital, Bahera (Chouparan, Hazaribagh).

Shri Ajay Kumar, Director (Technical/P&D); Shri Satish Jha, Director (Technical/ES); Shri Achyut Ghatak, Director (Technical/RD&T); Shri R.K.Mahapatra, GM(HRD/CSR) and his team; other GM/Hods and Shri Satish Girja, Secretary, NBJK and his team were present on this occasion.

Mobile Eye Care Van will be equipped with advanced instruments like Trial Box, LED chart, Portable Slit Lamp, Retinoscope, Non-Contact Tonometer, edging machine etc., for diagnosis and detection of various ophthalmic diseases including Cataract and for instant making and delivery of glasses, addressing refractive errors and quantify power of spectacles etc., which will ensure comprehensive eye services on the spot.

CMPDI in December 2023, signed the MoU with NBJK, Hazaribag to provide “Mobile Eye Care Van”. This is the first of its kind of project being taken up by CMPDIL for facilitating door-step eye care facilities to the people located in remote villages and approximately 10,000 persons/year will be benefitted.
