09 March 2024, Deoghar: Throughout February 2024, NBJK’s Vimla Ramkrishna Bajaj Eye Hospital, Deoghar embarked on a mission to extend eye care services to the farthest corners of Jharkhand and Bihar. Our dedicated teams organized 34 free outreach camps and door-to-door screenings across 49 villages in Jamua, Birni, Bengabad, including more 09 blocks of Giridih, Jamui, Deoghar, Lakhisarai districts from both the states.
The impact? Remarkable! We provided 838 OPD services, identified 455 cases of Cataract, 29 with Pterigium, and 186 with Refractive Error. Swift action followed: 143 patients received essential medications, while 37 cases were referred to our Vision Centers in Giridih and Jhajha.
What’s even more heartening? All Cataract patients identified are being supported with free-of-cost surgeries at our base hospital. From transportation to post-surgery care, we’re ensuring no obstacle stands between them and clear vision.
